Lizzo’s vivid tailoring references inform the paired lime outfit; this gold-and-berry makeup is our coordinated interpretation rather than a recreation of a documented makeup appointment. The fictional plus-size model has warm brown skin, dark waves and her own facial features. Her body size provides inclusive visual context, while the useful makeup decisions concern colour, lip shape, eyelids and the finish you enjoy.
Build the makeup in six steps
- Keep the base selective. Use familiar base or concealer where wanted and blend into the surrounding skin. Leave freckles visible if you enjoy them; full coverage is also a choice. Let the base settle before deciding whether a small amount of powder is useful.
- Press on a little gold. Choose an eye product intended for eyelids and press a small amount onto the central external lid. Start with less than you think you need. Blend the boundary so the colour reads as a contained wash rather than a large reflective block.
- Define the upper lashes. Use brown eye liner in short sections near the external upper lash roots. Keep it small enough that some gold remains visible with your eyes open. An angled brush and eye shadow can provide a softer alternative to a sharp pencil line.
- Add warm rose cheeks. Tap or brush rose colour where you like it, then soften its perimeter. Check the result beside the pink top in daylight. A richer rose may show more clearly on deeper skin; use less product if the shade is highly pigmented.
- Build the berry lip edge. Work around the natural lip edge in short strokes, checking the corners with your mouth relaxed. A compatible liner can help, but is optional. Fill with a berry satin colour and assess the depth before adding another layer.
- Place gloss deliberately. If you want shine, add a small amount of a suitable gloss at the centre of the lips and press gently. Check for transfer to teeth. Mascara and brow definition are optional finishing details, not prerequisites for a complete look.
Adapt it to your features and plans
For a low-maintenance daytime version, tap on the berry colour as a softer stain and omit gloss. For evening, strengthen the lip edge while keeping the gold area small. A plum, raspberry or warm wine can all play the berry role; select the colour in relation to your own skin and the outfit.
If your upper lid has little visible space, place gold only where it shows comfortably with your eye open and keep the line thin. If glossy lips feel sticky, a satin finish provides the same colour focus. Body size does not set blush placement or require contouring.
| What you notice | Try this |
|---|---|
| Gold falls onto the cheek | Lift loose particles with a clean tool before adding more base; use smaller amounts on the brush next time. |
| Berry collects at the lip edge | Remove the excess at the corners and rebuild a thinner layer rather than adding more gloss. |
| The eye and lip compete | Soften the lid wash or reduce liner thickness, keeping the lip as the main colour. |
Questions you might have
Do I need a matching pink blush and lip?
No. Warm rose blush can sit beside a deeper berry lip. Judge the combination on your skin rather than expecting identical shade names.
Can I wear this without foundation?
Yes. The gold, rose and berry colours can be used with bare skin or selective concealer. Choose coverage for your own comfort.
Use eye products as directed
Follow product directions, use clean applicators and stop if irritation occurs. External-lid placement is our choice.
