A little know-how. A look that’s yours.

Five-minute everyday makeup

A small, adaptable routine built around a little coverage, soft colour and defined lashes.

A woman with a dark wavy bob, freckles, soft peach-rose cheeks and sheer rosy lips.

Put out four familiar products: concealer or skin tint if wanted, blush, mascara and an easy lip colour. Apply a little of each, then leave time to check the edges. Five minutes is a planning guide; preparation and finding the products happen beforehand.

Use the time where it matters to you

  1. Coverage: start with a small amount only where you want it. Blend the boundary into the skin around it. Leave the rest alone if it already looks the way you want.
  2. Cheeks: place a little blush, soften its outside edge and look straight ahead before adding more. A second heavy layer is harder to edit in a hurry.
  3. Lashes: apply your familiar mascara carefully, following its directions. Skip this step if you do not wear it; do not race a wand near your eyes to keep a timetable.
  4. Lips: choose colour you can apply and refresh comfortably without a separate liner. A tint, satin lipstick or gloss changes the finish without changing the whole routine.

Keep the last check

Look at the sides of the nose, jaw and lip corners in even light. Use the clean blending brush to soften an obvious base boundary. If one cheek is much stronger, work at its edge before automatically adding colour to the other.

With only two minutes, choose cheeks and lips, or coverage and mascara. The shorter routine is complete on its own. A product can serve cheeks and lips only when its label permits both uses; a similar colour does not establish that.

If you regularly lose time looking for a lid or brush, use the makeup-bag reset once, outside the morning rush. When time runs out, leave out the next optional step. Finish the one already in progress carefully.

A starting point, not a rulebook.

Makeup placement and colour are personal choices; adjust the steps to suit you. Follow the directions on your own products.
